Should Guns Be Allowed On High School/College Campuses?

There are many accidents and assaults that can happen on on school campus. So the question that is debated about is if guns should be allowed on the campus for the children and staff's safety? I personally believe that guns should not be allowed on campus security because it allows for more fatalities to happen within the school. Yes it is important to be protected from those outside (or inside ) the school but having more guns within the school won't solve the problem of security and can most likely make situations more dangerous. An example would be if there was a school shooter on campus and they running out of ammunition from their firearm. They could easily go for the gun department and try to steal more firearms to kill more students. Though even if that doesn't occur and the staff fights back against the student, there could be other fatalities if a bullets are going back and forth across from student and staff. Though despite my argument and views many people believe that there should be firearms within the school their defense is that it will protect the school better and fatalities within the school would not happen often. Gun advocate David Burnett states that gun-free zones do not work  and that they do not stop criminals from committing a crime. That instead it would be better for licensed students to carry for extra protection and safety. To counter argue with Burnett, I believe that guns won't bring more safety and continue to insure more violence. Especially if there is young adults carrying them , there is no telling which person actually carries the gun for safety and who carries it to promotes violence and injustice.
