Many times, there are cases that the F.B.I. overlooks when they are unable to solve them or they cannot find further evidence. In 2013, Ahmad Khan Rahami was charged with setting off a bomb in Manhattan, which was right before Tamerlan Tsarnaev set off the bomb during the Boston Marathon, as well as Omar Mateen who murdered close to 50 people in Orlando, Florida. Before all of these events took place, the F.B.I. was investigating them as suspects of extremism, but all the investigations were eventually closed and remained unsolved. So, do you think the F.B.I. could do more during cases of extremism in order to stop people like Rahami from hurting more innocent people?
Well, Paul Rosenzweig, a principal at Red Branch Consulting, says that what law enforcement is doing right now, is enough, and it is working. He states that there have been “90 terrorist incidents… in the United States since 9/11 — and fewer than 15 of them have been successful.” However, Rosenzweig says that there is room for improvement, starting with the strict six-month limit for “preliminary investigation,” since this limit is no longer realistic for extreme cases.
On the other hand, Faiza Patel, the co-director of the Liberty and National Security Program at the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University Law School, states that “tracking more people is unlikely to make us any safer, but it would certainly result in open-ended investigations of thousands of Americans not suspected of any wrongdoing.” She further explains herself by saying that “the F.B.I. opened 82,325 assessments, of which roughly 4 percent justified further investigation,” which is not fair to those who are being watched for something they are not a part of. What do you think?

How hard do you think it to solve a case of any law abiding process? It isn't C.S.I. leads are hard to come by, people aren't pages from a book, they aren't very predictable, And the Orlando shooting wouldn't have been as severe if an idiot didn't block, this door being the only exit, and it cost many people their lives. Sometimes people commit acts without motive, how do you follow that lead in a case? It's a hard and taxing job and lives literally depend on you, you can't prevent much, you can really only try and deal with the aftermath.
